Erosion and sedimentation

One of the main environmental risks during the construction phase of the Pacific Highway upgrade is erosion and sedimentation impacts.  The project uses a wide range of measures to ensure water quality impacts are minimised including use of large sediment basins to capture and treat construction water runoff, minimising clean run on water into construction sites, integrating sediment  controls throughout the construction area and changing controls  measures to suit the changing  site conditions as construction progresses.
